We are continuing to hear from individual women via e-mail and telephone. After 27 years, nothing is new under the sun, yet still it is sad to hear of the painful situations priests and women are in, particularly when the priests refuse to seek spiritual direction or guidance, or even discuss with others what is going on, and how he can walk into the future with integrity. Good Tidings continues to offer professional and peer support to both the priests and women. God's peace be with each one.
We have created Spiritual Care Associates of Good Tidings. This group of associated professionals serve as counselors, spiritual directors, life coaches, addressing the needs of both single and married persons. In addition, their specific ministry, SOLACE, is to help in the spiritual healing of those who have been sexually abused by clergy, as well as other specific populations who seek spiritual healing through counseling and spiritual direction.
We would like to bring your attention to two new online interactive sites which deal directly with priests and the topic of priests who leave and marry.
The first is called THE APOSTLES' WIVES CLUB and is a blog for women married to priests. A good place to share experience and views.
The second new site is called: LEAVING THE PRIESTHOOD, and has articles, opinions, blogs and shares the experience of those who have left the priesthood (or who are considering it). It also has a page where women can share stories about their involvement with priests.
Good Tidings, Inc. Establishes a NEW Internet Presence
Good Tidings is now hosted by a new server. This will allow for those in the Good Tidings Support network to share poetry, stories, and news or whatever they want even on a daily basis.
We will have a picture gallery as desired, yet always with the necessary privacy considered, particularly where children are concerned.
So, keep an eye on this site, and write me if you want to add to it.
GT has been covered in the media on and off for the past 23 years. You know...when something hits the fan, the media seek out more of the same. We will use this space to let you all know what we do, and what is available as we hear about it directly from journalists, or from any of you. The last TV coverage we've was in Canada. Joe did a TV show for French TV in Quebec. From this we have had some contacts.
